Tesla Powerwall 2
Cambridge Battery Storage are Tesla Powerwall approved installers, we install Tesla Powerwall in Cambridge and East Anglia. The Tesla Powerwall is one of the most popular battery storage choices at the moment, The Tesla Powerwall was one of the most in demand products in the solar industry in 2023
A Background On Tesla!
Tesla, Inc. is an American company founded in 2003 with a mission to accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy. Initially focused on electric vehicles, Tesla has expanded its offerings to include energy products such as battery storage solutions and solar energy systems.
Tesla's energy storage products include the Powerwall for residential use, the Powerpack for commercial applications, and the Megapack for utility-scale projects. These battery storage systems enable users to store energy from renewable sources like solar panels for use during peak demand periods or in the event of power outages.
In addition to battery storage, Tesla offers solar energy products including solar panels and solar roof tiles. These products integrate seamlessly with Tesla's battery storage solutions to create sustainable, off-grid energy solutions for homes and businesses.
Tesla's energy products aim to revolutionize the way energy is generated, stored, and consumed, empowering individuals and businesses to reduce their reliance on fossil fuels and transition to clean, renewable energy sources.
The Tesla Powerwall 2 is a cutting-edge home battery storage solution that revolutionizes the way homeowners manage their energy consumption. With a substantial energy capacity of 13.5 kWh and a robust output of 5 kW continuous power (with a peak of 7 kW), the Powerwall 2 offers reliable backup power during outages and efficient energy management for daily use. Its lithium-ion battery cells ensure high energy density and long-term durability, providing homeowners with peace of mind and lasting performance.
One of the Powerwall 2's standout features is its seamless integration with solar panels, enabling users to store excess energy generated during the day for use at night or during periods of low sunlight. This integration not only maximizes the benefits of solar power but also allows homeowners to reduce their reliance on the grid and lower their electricity bills. The Powerwall 2's design is versatile, suitable for indoor or outdoor installation, and can be wall-mounted to save space, making it adaptable to various home setups.
Scalability is another advantage of the Powerwall 2, as multiple units can be installed together to increase storage capacity according to individual energy needs. Furthermore, the Powerwall 2 comes with advanced monitoring and control capabilities, allowing users to track their energy usage in real-time and control the system remotely via the Tesla mobile app or web browser. In the event of a grid outage, the Powerwall 2 automatically detects the interruption and seamlessly switches to backup power mode, ensuring uninterrupted power supply to essential circuits in the home.
Overall, the Tesla Powerwall 2 represents a significant advancement in home energy storage technology, offering homeowners a reliable, efficient, and customizable solution for managing their energy needs, optimizing solar power utilization, and enhancing energy resilience.
Tesla Powerwall 3 (Coming Late 2024)
The Tesla Powerwall 3 is due to land in the UK late 2024, at Cambridge Battery Storage as we are approved Tesla Installers we shall be getting our hands on the Powerwall 3 before the crowd and we are very excited for the launch of Tesla's new home battery storage solution in the Powerwall 3! Lets take a quick look at what we can expect!
The Powerwall 3 retains the same energy storage capacity as its predecessor, the Powerwall 2. However, it boasts a significant improvement in discharge rate, being able to discharge 230% faster on a continuous basis compared to the Powerwall 2. This enhanced performance allows a single Powerwall 3 to efficiently handle the energy demands of approximately 80% of households, potentially eliminating the need for setting up separate panels for backup and non-backup loads, which could lead to a healthy potentaly saving, Also, the increased discharge power reduces the necessity for multiple Powerwall installations, potentially saving thousands in certain scenarios.
Additionally, the Powerwall 3 features a built-in solar inverter, enabling seamless integration with solar arrays of up to 20 kW without requiring additional inverters, offering further potential savings compared to traditional setups with Tesla inverters or with microinverters. The inclusion of a built-in site controller offers flexibility in installation, allowing for compatibility with the more affordable Tesla backup switch, in comparison to the Tesla Gateway, while still delivering efficient performance in most situations.
The Powerwall 3 incorporates a new thermal management system and utilizes lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery technology, resulting in cooler operation and improved efficiency. These advancements contribute to the overall reliability and longevity of the system, further enhancing its value proposition.
